A Mother Builded A Temple

Happy Mother’s Day! Here is a poem that I will use in my sermon this morning. What a great thought this is:

A MOTHER BUILDED A TEMPLE

A builder builded a temple,

He wrought it with grace and skill.

With pillars and stones and arches

All fashioned to work his will.

Men said as they saw its beauty,

It shall never know decay.

Great is thy skill, O builder,

Thy fame shall endure forever and shall never fade away.

A mother builded a temple

With loving and infinite care,

Planning each arch with patience,

Laying each stone with prayer,

None praised her unceasing efforts,

None knew of her wondrous plan,

For the temple the mother builded

Was unseen by the eyes of man.

Gone is the builder’s temple,

It’s crumbled into dust,

Low lies each stately pillar,

Now just consuming rust.

But the temple the mother builded

Will last while the ages roll,

For that beautiful unseen temple

Was a child’s immortal soul.

Faces

Have you ever thought that your work for the Lord just isn’t enough? Perhaps you teach a Sunday School class of young kids, and you wonder if your work has any eternal value. It may be that you don’t feel like you have seen any “results” or “harvest” in the work.

This song was written by Rodney Griffin of the Southern Gospel group, Greater Vision. I hope these words he wrote are an encouragement to you. As another song states “Little is much when God is in it.”

FACES

I DREAMED MY LIFE WAS DONE. I STOOD BEFORE GOD’S SON.
IT WAS TIME TO SEE WHAT MY REWARD WOULD BE
WITH LOVE HE REVIEWED MY LIFE TO COUNT WHAT WAS DONE FOR CHRIST.
FOR THAT IS WHAT WILL LAST ETERNALLY

SEE I’D DONE MY BEST TO SHARE THAT JESUS REALLY CARES

I appreciate every Sunday School teacher, every Children’s Church teacher and worker, and everyone who has the privilege of watching over infants in our nursery. Only God knows the impact you are having on their lives!
