Heading Out

June 26th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

I am writing this post this morning as my family and I are preparing to leave for a few days in North Carolina. Please pray for a safe trip, a fun time, and a time of refreshing for us.

We are planning to stop at the “Messiah’s Mansion” replica of the Tabernacle in New Market on our way out of town. For those of you who were not in service last night, this will be going on through Saturday from 1pm-7pm. It is being held at the Seventh-Day Adventist school on Route 211, just west of New Market. I believe you will enjoy and be blessed by visiting.

I also want to say how much I appreciate the good deacons and officers of Grace Baptist Church. It is a great blessing to a pastor’s heart to know that everything will be taken care of very well in my absence. Please come to hear Brother Mark Leatherman, assistant pastor of Bear Lithia Baptist Church in Elkton, VA this Sunday.

God bless you all,

Pastor Art

How serious are you about your faith?

How serious is your faith? How serious are you about what God says in His Word? It is imperative that we know what the Bible says and be assured that it is correct. If the Bible is true (and it is) then we must be strong and secure in our convictions about it. Here is a story from MSNBC about how Americans feel about their religious beliefs.

Rapidan Closing Program

June 23rd, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Children's Ministry, Family Life, video

Below is a video clip of the closing program at Camp Rapidan last week. The campers were divided into two teams, the Crusaders & the Raiders. The team with the most points at the end of camp won, and their opponents’ castle would be destroyed. It is hard to hear the speaker for the fun screams of the campers, but this will give you an idea of the fun the kids had.

We showed this video in the Sunday night Service on 6-22. Below you can find a pdf version of the presentation of the camp pictures.

Saturday is Flag Day. Old Glory will be 231 years old. Below is a video about the most beautiful flag in the world, in my opinion.

A nice video for Fathers Day

June 11th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Family Life, Music, video

This is a very poignant song, sung by Chet Atkins about his father. I neither endorse his career nor country music, but this video is very touching.
