This is from Brother Ron Maggard’s blog, “Let Us Go Into The Next Towns.” It is great to see the Lord move in the lives of people.

Baptism Of Manuel Tziqui Xum

Last Friday night I met with Jorge Gomez, our co-pastor and the young man in the picture.  Manuel Xum has been coming to our church for the last year.  In one of our services he trusted Christ.  Since that day, by his own testimony, his life was changed forever.  He started to faithfully attend all the services.  He began to read his Bible.  He began to be careful about his friends.  He began to enjoy serving the Lord.  He wanted to be baptized.  So this past week we had the priveledge and joy of seeing Manuel follow the Lord in baptism.

Manuel is from a small village near Xohola, Guatemala.  I have visited Xohola a number of times.  It is not far from out mission work in Xejuyup.  Manuel really wants to grow in his relationship with Christ.  Pray for him.

Missionary Ron Maggard

September 5th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Missions

This is a recent post from Brother Ron Maggard. He will be with us in our Missions Conference. I thought this would be a blessing to you.

  • Pastor Art

As many of you know I have worked in Cuba for the last 14 years with the exception of the 2 years after June 1999 when I was arrested, in jail and deported from Cuba and then again for these last 2 years since 2006 when the same thing happened again.  However even with these difficulties we were able to see 9 churches planted and growing.  Each one of these churches has a pastor and their own meeting place.  Some of these churches are starting other missions.  Recently I heard from one of the men we trained and worked with in the western part of Cuba.  Here is a short report in his own words that I want to share with you.

Brother Ron, I am happy to receive and hear even more knowing that soon we will continue the work that one day we started together, because what you planted here in Pinar del Rio has thrived and you must participate in this harvest, makes more than three years that we are working alone and have reached many people and planted new churches and no one has helped us, but you was the one who helped us when we started in 2002 in Pinar del Rio and those places that have multiplied walked together, I hope to see you soon the church and the family are well a hug for you and your family pray that churches could open many more as you have a missionary heart and we agree, (sent a photo attached of my family).

  A greeting Jose Luis

Other messages from this good brother have mentioned how devasted their area was from the recent passing of the hurricanes.  Please remember them in your prayers.  They have tremendous needs.

I also just heard from Brother Predestin who is the president of the group of Baptist pastors we were recently working with in Haiti.  They also have tremendous needs and hope for our prayers.  Here is his recent communication.

But we rely  account on the prayer of all men of God for Haiti can be the Lord have mercy for this country.
Greet your wife, your son and another pastor for me please.

dear beloved Ron, Have a great day on the regard of God
Your brother, Pastor Predestin Pierre Herard.

The Tabernacle of the Creator

August 15th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Missions

Another entry from our dear brother, Ron Maggard of Baptist Evangelism…

The Tabernacle Of The Creator

from Let Us Go Into The Next Towns by worldlink

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.  In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun.”  (Psalms 19:1-4)

An amazing scripture!  Can you imagine all that God has done with His creation to make Himself known!

  • The heavens declare His glory.
  • The earth displays His power.
  • Each day delivers His message.
  • Each night demonstrates His knowledge.
  • Their message defines His graciousness.

And these wonderful messages are being preached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to all people everywhere in the world.  Notice the words in verse 4:  “through all the earth” and again “to the end of the world”.

We see that God is busy every moment of the day declaring the message of Himself but wait, there is something more that is necessary that I as a believer must add.  I am called to be involved in A CONCERT IN THE TABERNACLE OF THE CREATOR.  The definition of ”concert” is among other things, “to act together in harmony”.  If you check your Bible you will see that Psalm 19:4 is quoted in Romans 10:18.  In the verses prior to verse 18 we find our part in the harmonious concert that is to be heard in the Tabernacle of the Creator.  “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?  and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach, except they be sent?  Even with all the other glorious parts in this concert, there must be the preaching of the Word of God.  Because “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

Beloved we are sent to join the concert to make God known among all nations.  There are multitudes who await the full chorus.  I want my voice to be heard in the harmonious testimony of our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Will you join this great tabernacle choir?  Where can you go to add your voice in concert with what God is already declaring?  Join in this great concert in the Tabernacle of the Creator.

Not Too Early!

August 13th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Missions

It is not too early to start praying and asking God to prepare your hearts for our Missions Conference. The dates, as you know, are October 12-15, and we have a good group of missionaries who will be sharing their burdens with us.

You can start praying for the following missionaries:

Mel & Jan Wingrove, Evangelical Mission to Uruguay

David & Lynn Cordell, Missionaries to the Jewish population of Atlanta

Ron Maggard, Baptist Evangelism (Florida, Cuba, Guatemala, and other places)

We already support the Wingroves, and we are excited to have them back with us. The other two are new to us, and we are anxiously awaiting hearing from them.

Please pray for their safety on the roads, their families, and that God would use them in a mighty way.

God Is Looking For A Church For His Mission

August 13th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in Missions

I picked this up from the blog of Ron Maggard, a missionary who will be with us in our Missions Conference in October. This is very good reading and very important, especially today.

His blog can be found here.
God Is Looking For A Church For His Mission

While many today are looking for a mission for their church, God is looking for a church for His mission.  His mission is clear.  It is about Him being glorified in all the earth.  He is glorified when the Name of Christ is known and magnified in all places.  Sadly most of the world still lies beyond the sound of the Gospel.  We as believers gathering in churches are commanded to go into all nations.  Some satisfy themselves by token involvements in this small mission or that thinking that they have accomplished something great.  They are a bit confused about their mission.  God sent his Son who established His church here upon the earth to fulfill this great mission to preach the Gospel to all nations.  How sad it is that so many churches today have little involvement in that masterful purpose for which they were established.  Many of the early churches and believers are great examples by their clear understanding of this global mission.  Today the average church shows little that demonstrates their understanding of God’s global mission.  Beloved, are you looking for a mission?  Stop looking!  God already has one.  It is a grand and glorious mission.  It is expansive and ongoing.  Get involved in His mission of getting the Gospel to all nations.  God is looking for a church for His mission.

The Rices to Peru

Brother Rice and his family will be in the States from September 2008 to February 2009 for a short furlough. Their sixth child is due to arrive on the 15th of November. They will be with us on Wednesday night, January 21st.

Have you prayed for the Rices lately?

Here is the link to their webpage: www.rices2peru.com

Why don’t you email them today to tell them that you are praying for them? Their email address is: shane2peru@gmail.com

God bless,

Pastor Art
