What We Believe

April 30th, 2008 by Pastor | No Comments | Filed in About Us, Doctrine

We are unashamedly Bible-Believing Baptists, and as such we are identified by what we believe.

Here we will list a few of the truths of God’s Word that we hold dear. To read our complete statement of faith, please click here.

We believe…

The Bible to be the inspired Word of God. It is upon the authority of God’s Word that we base our beliefs.

We believe that God is eternal, without beginning or end and reigns supreme over all creation.
(
Psalm 90:2, Psalm 135:6)

We believe in the Trinity.

We believe man was created perfect and granted a free will to obey or disobey God.

We believe that man chose to disobey God and now must bear the penalty of sin which will ultimately lead to an eternity in Hell. (Romans 5:12, Revelation 21:8)

We believe that God sent His only Son to pay the penalty for sin and grant us eternal life. This was accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 5:8, 6:23)

We believe that the gift of eternal life is free to all who will accept it by faith. It cannot be worked for. Once received, it cannot be taken away. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 10:28-30)

We believe that all who have accepted this gift of salvation will enter into Heaven immediately after death or upon the rapture of the saints.

We believe that the rapture will take place at God’s appointed time prior to the Tribulation period.

We believe that the church is a local assembly of baptized believers, operating autonomously, with the deacons as helpers, the pastor as overseer, and Christ as its head. We do not affiliate ourselves or endorse any group, trend or philosophy which promotes the de-emphasizing of Biblical authority. Examples are, but are not limited to: the Ecumenical Movement, Neo-Orthodoxy, the modern tongues movement, or what may be termed a “seeker sensitive” approach to evangelism
